There are two main types of left wing Socialism. Pro-Capitalist socialism which is concerned with increasing wages in a capitalist framework and likes equal opportunity and capitalism for all in society. And the other is Pro-Communist socialism which is concerned with tax and spend and high taxes which effect incentives and investment.
I have deleted the post in question which was made after countless racist comments by white Americans which criticized Blacks. It was really being derogatory against the American Whites though i think they are usually very kind people but have an odd hatred almost of Blacks which confuses me it is not in keeping with the rest of their ideas and morality. I aimed the post at changing the mind of the American racist and it ended up being rather clumsily written and sounded very racist itself when it was intended to be just the opposite.
Socialism doesn't work but why and has pure capitalism proved to work either. I put it to you the answer is pure socialism AND pure capitalism have both failed totally when implemented. Socialism doesnt work mainly because it penalizes you if you work harder and better than the next man. Equality in the Law is the priority of the Liberal and Conservative and Moderate Socialists have always concentrated on equality of opportunity which is a desirable aspiration and not equality of bank balances which in effect means hatred of those with aspirations. We have a current hybrid Social Capitalism system because pure capitalism only works for the lucky and long may we send the purists on both sides packing.
Actually giving away money for doing nothing is always bad unless you have a reason, there is a whole theory of economics devoted to it, mainly the theory suggests you devalue the money given to people who worked hard for it. The devaluing causes inflation. Unemployment benefits are thus mainly given to people who cant work which doesnt have the same devaluing effect for the reason that you are not altering the value of work as much and it only is given on a subseries of people not the majority or all.
It would have been great if Malcolm Pein had become el presidente but he stood as a deputy in the end on the Jan Henric Buettner ticket and Jan called chess boring so he had no chance. There is a documentary on Jan in theatres entitled 'Grandmasters'.
